Heart disease is a well known epidemic in the world but you don't fully understand it until it effects you.
When our daughter Charlotte was one month old the Dr. heard a murmur at her check up. Johnny and I were both surprised and upset as this came to a shock to us.
We soon found out that Charlotte had a VSD which was a small hole in her heart. Most of the times VSD's close on their own but some do not and require a repair.
When Charlotte was 5 months old we were told that she needed open heart surgery to have it repaired as soon as possible.
There are no words to describe the feeling of finding out your perfect beautiful baby needs open heart surgery, but not only did Charlotte thrive during and after surgery, her glowing and sweet personality never fluttered.
At five months old she was a survivor ans the strongest person I knew.We walk for Charlotte and all the others that have gone through this horrible disease and who fought for themselves
