Kristin's heart journey began 8 years ago, at the age of 27, when she suffered her first heart attack. She went on to have a triple bypass three months later and over the course of the next 5 years would suffer a total of 6 heart attacks and have thirteen stents placed. She would also suffer two ischemic strokes between 2015 and 2022.
Due to the progression of her early onset Heart Disease, in September 2020, at the age of 32, Kristin recieved the miracle of a new heart, with a Heart Transplant at Johns Hopkins Hospital. We are forever grateful to her Donor, donor family and the team of doctors involved in her care.
We have been blessed to be on the receiving end of some of the work of the AHA. Through their future research and grants, our family has recieved the benefits of advancement in technology and skilled doctors who have dedicated their careers to Cardiology treatment and study. Our family's story is a story of Hope - Hope Wins! I walk for Kristin and all those who come behind her who need hope.
