As a co-coach of the Federal Advocacy Team, it is my honor to be part of the 2024 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk!
This year I am walking in honor of my friend Tim Odom. Tim was not just a friend and colleague, "he was a beacon of inspiration and positivity in our lives and in the lives of many others. His passion for elevating educational opportunities, improving healthcare outcomes for children, and promoting heart and cardiovascular health, along with his commitment to making a difference, left a mark on all who knew him." Earlier this year, we lost Tim to a massive heart attack, and it was devasting.
This year, I am asking you to walk with me to support this great cause and honor Tim's legacy. I know we all lead remarkably busy lives, but I would appreciate your time and if you are not able to join me, I hope that you will consider a small donation on my behalf.
I am continuously humbled and amazed at how involved and far-reaching the AHA is in its dedication to keeping hearts beating and to help people have and live longer, healthier lives. Our work involves lobbying, community organization, networking, coalition building and partnerships both inside and outside the AHA.
Your generous support funds science that creates new medicines to lower blood pressure, fights congenital heart disease in newborn babies, reduces the number of people who suffer from debilitating strokes, and makes our advocacy for prevention and public health policies at the federal, state, and local levels possible.
So have a heart and help me walk the walk. Your donation (no matter the amount) will be effective!
