At 16, my life changed in ways I never saw coming. I had been struggling with flu-like symptoms that just wouldn’t go away over the summer, yet every ER visit showed nothing wrong. By the time I was diagnosed, my heart was failing rapidly, and I urgently needed a transplant. I was given an LVAD to keep me alive until I could get the heart I desperately needed.
That experience showed me just how critical research, awareness, and advanced treatments are—and that’s why the Heart Walk with the American Heart Association is so important to me. It’s more than just a walk; it’s about making sure others have the same chance I did to get the care and support they need.
