"My name is Jacob Baker. I was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. I have had 3 open heart surgeries, a complete airway reconstruction and many other procedures. When I was born doctors were not sure if I would make it to age 5.
On March 23rd, I am turning 15 years old! For my birthday, I told my mom I wanted to be an advocate for kids like me. I want to share my story and raise money for the American Heart Association. 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect. Sadly many don't survive. I want to raise money for life saving research to help other kids fighting heart disease.
I may need a heart transplant one day so this is very important to me."
