Did you know each year approximately 40,000 babies are born in the United States with a congenital heart defect. This equates to 1 child every 15 minutes. Connor is one of those kids!
Connor was diagnosed with three Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) at 25 weeks gestation: atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect and a cleft artery of the mitral valve with regurgitation. Connor was given a 50% chance of survival at birth. THANKFULLY our amazing team of doctors bettered those odds with bi-weekly scans in utero and knew Connor would face challenges, but ultimately would survive!
Connor had his open heart surgery at just one year old in July 2017.
Today, Connor is 8 years old and loves baseball, golf, football and being outside! Although CHD is a lifelong diagnosis thanks to research by the American Heart Association strides are being made to ensure these children have a chance at life!!
