Heart health is incredibly important to me. While I was a freshman in college, I found out I had a heart condition that required a procedure. The following year, I lost my mom to cardiac arrest. And just before college graduation, my dad had open-heart surgery.
I'm walking in the American Heart Association's Wall Street Heart Walk because I believe in raising awareness, funding research, and helping more people survive. The walk is especially meaningful to me because it falls on my mom's birthday this year. Im participating in her memory, and for every person and family impacted by heart disease.
