I've been involved in the AHA Wall Street Run & Heart Walk for many years - as a runner, fundraiser and for 5 years as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the event, which is the primary fundraising event for the American Heart Association in NYC. My goal is to raise over $5,000 for the AHA, the nation’s leading organization promoting heart health and fighting cardiovascular disease and stroke. Heart disease and stroke have historically been the #1 and #5 causes of death in the US.
My father passed away in 2018 after a long running battle with heart disease and its various complications. I saw how it severely impacted his quality of life and it gave me an even greater appreciation for the essential work of the AHA.
