The Heart Walk is a community-building heart healthy event that raises awareness and helps fund scientific advances to prevent and treat heart disease and stroke.

March 30th, 2025 we walk for Ella! 

Ella & her condition:

Ella was born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). She had an enlarged and overriding aorta, a large VSD (hole) to the right and left venticle of her lower heart, as well as narrowing of her pulmonary valve. At 8 weeks old, on 10/10/24, Ella had open heart surgery for a full TOF repair at Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester. 

Congenital Heart Disease ( CHD ) - An abnormality in the heart that develops before birth.

Tetralogy of Fallot ( TOF ) - TOF is a rare congenital heart defect that occurs when a baby's heart does not fully form correctly during pregnancy. It is considered a critical CHD because babies with TOF may need surgery or other procedures soon after birth. TOF causes low oxygen levels in the blood, which leads to cyanosis. TOF is made up of four different heart problems.
