For 18 years I've helped patients who have recovered from open heart surgery. In april 2022 I developed bilateral pulmonary embolism with right heart strain which required a bilateral mechanical thrombectomy to relieve. Since recovering from the clots i have been experiencing rhythm issues with my heart as a result of the severity of the clots (and I wouldn't put it past covid having a hand in such either).
My Heart rate can fluctuate as low as the 30s to as high as the 170s. Of which I'm working with cardiology to find out how to best get things back to normal. I'm still able to work and have had to adjust how i do things during my shift to accommodate what my heart rate does during each shift.
I will be walking to not only support those who have dealt with heart strain due to bilateral blood clots but for all those who have coronary artery disease and have survived just like my mother who had a large MI in 2016. I will also be walking for all those patients who have come through our doors to have bypass surgery and for all those yet to come who need to have bypass surgery as well.
