As many of you know, Jason was born with a congenital heart defect. At a month old, he was diagnosed with an atrioventricular canal defect. We were told that Jason would need surgery to correct the hole in his heart. In August of 2022, the time had come for Jason to undergo open heart surgery. Like the champion we knew he was, Jason did incredibly well. His surgery was on a Monday and he was home by Thursday! While the hole in his heart is fixed, he still needs to be monitored yearly for the rest of his life and he could require further intervention in the future.
We are looking to get together to support Jason and his fellow heart survivors by raising money for research and education about heart health and congenital diseases. In addition to research, donations will also help fund CPR education to help with early recognition and intervention in cardiac arrest.
