Mary's Team was formed to honor the memory of Mary Kate Lane who lost her life 22 years ago to cardiovascular disease. Although great strides have been made, particularly in women's health, to better manage this condition heart disease remains the number 1 cause of death in the US. More work needs to be done to change this statistic, and the research and educational initiatives that the American Heart Association supports are crucial. To achieve the goal of further reducing and eventually eliminating death and disability caused by heart attacks and strokes we need your help.
