My WHY.
Movement is key to a healthy heart. But it's also about creating momentum in research, education, and prevention so fewer families face the realities of heart disease.
A few months ago - at this year's Go Red for Women Luncheon - I had the privilege of sharing the stage with my oldest son, Cael. Together, we told our story of survival, resilience, and the personal connection that ties us to the mission of the American Heart Association.
Postpartum preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome changed my life forever. While I survived, the risks remain. Heart disease, stroke, and hypertension may now be a part of my future. That's why I advocate. That's why I walk. And that's why I invite you to join me.
Cael's thoughtful questions and participation at the Go Red Luncheon reminded me how deeply he already understands what it means to show up; for yourself, for others, and for something much bigger. That's exactly what the Heart Walk is all about. And you can bet he is eager to join me there, too!
This year, I'm walking for every woman facing an unexpected diagnosis, for every family who has prayed for more time, and for every child who deserves a healthier future. If you're moved by this mission, I hope you'll consider supporting our family's Heart Walk efforts. Together, we can create a movement that saves lives.
