If you knew her you know that she was loving and kind, but took no crap. She was always thinking of the ones she loved and was incredibly generous; she'd always show up to our house with things she knew we liked, even though we didn't ask. She was hilarious (dad's humor and wit rubbed off on her) with the mouth of a trucker (that's where I got it) and a laugh you'd never forget. She was the absolute best of us.
My sweet mama had a cardiovascular disease that she was unaware of called ASCVD. Turns out, you can get screened for ASCVD by having a CT scan called Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Scoring. Unfortunately, this test is not covered by insurance and can range from $100 to $400 out of pocket. I am choosing to contribute to the American Heart Association's efforts as they provide resources and share heart health education, encouraging preventative testing like the CAC Scoring.
Please join me on this walk to honor my mother, who I miss with every ounce of my being, every second of the day. If you're unable to attend the walk but would like to make a donation in her memory instead, we would be forever grateful.
Thank you, friends.
