As an Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit nurse, I walk because I know that with every step, I am making a difference in someone's life. This year I became the lead fundraising facilitator for our Team, The ICCU ICDs to raise money for the American Heart Association, as well as increase awareness of the need for more research and education to prevent cardiac disease and the prevention of strokes. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward finding cures, developing better medication and hopefully one day curing heart disease and stroke.
