Why I Walk- A Nurse's Perspective
I walk the Heart Walk bcause this cause is deeply personal to me- both professionally and personally.
As a nurses who spent 15 years working with cardiac patients, I've seen firsthand the strength and resilience it takes to battle heart disease. I've walked beside patietns and families through the toughest days- caring for those with heart failure, recovering from open-heart surgery, and fighting every day for just one more heartbeat.
But it doesn't stop at the hospital doors.
Heart disease has touched my own life too- through friends and family members I love dearly. It's a reminder that this fight is all around us. That's why I walk: to honor them, to support the research that saves lives, and to stand with a community committed to making a difference.
The Heart Walk is more than just a walk. It's a movement. And I'm proud to be part of it.
