When I signed up to lead a team and walk two years ago, I was motivated to help our internal team to be competitive and to get involved in community. However, last year, days before the walk, I became a survivor. Now I walk for myself as a heart disease survivor.
While I was having a heart attack, I thought of the educational material I read from the American Heart Association on how heart attacks present in women. Honestly, I thought it was a panic attack. While recovering, I spent hours scouring the AHA website and it helped to ease my fears and gave me a foundation to maintain a healthy heart.
Please donate so the American Heart Association can continue the work they do to educate and support those with heart disease and those who care for persons with heart disease.
Thank you.
