For me heart disease, heart attack, and stroke have hit very close to home.  When I was 18 my dad died from heart attack and stroke, he was only 47 years old.  He had his first heart attack and triple bypass surgery when he was 43.  I have missed my dad so much, he wasn?t there when I got married, or when my children were born, and most recently he has missed out on meeting his great grandson.  He didn?t get to see me become a second generation shipbuilder (he worked at NNS too in the 90?s), there are so many milestones that I wish I could have shared with him.  The American Heart association supports the research and education that is needed to help combat heart issues, and maybe you or someone else close to you will benefit and get to share all those milestones with their loved ones.
