May 2025
Greetings from a sunny but un-disclosed location in the Southwest USA. We have beentraveling in our motorcoach since April 30th. What a great way and place to spend the summer. Life is very active for us and I am thankful for my good health and ability to enjoy all the activities and opportunities everyday.
I had my 8-year heart transplant anniversary in February. I feel great, happy, healthy and I am forever grateful for all the wonderful things I have been able to experience and accomplish with this amazing gift. I have met so many interesting people, traveled to all sorts of places and am really making the most of my “second chance”.
This will be my 7th year on the Leaders with Heart team for the Heartwalk. As a member of this team, I have committed to donate $5,000.00 personally and reach out to my supporters to reach a much higher goal as a team.
Debbie and I are still involved the HeartBrothers Foundation. This is a group of heart transplant survivors that are giving back by engaging with heart failure patients in many of the transplant centers in New England, sharing their journey, answering questions and concerns of these patients and their families and where possible, providing grants to make the waiting and recovery times more inclusive for the families. Many transplant patients live hundreds of miles from the hospitals where they will ultimately have to spend many weeks both in the hospital and rehabilitation. www.heartbrothers.org
I will be walking "IN PERSON" this year, just not in Albany. On Sunday we will be in Gunnison, CO and I will be walking at least 5k as we do most days. On this trip we have been hiking almost everyday so we have racked up some 65 miles already on our trip. We have been visiting all the National Parks and as many Presidential libraries as possible.
Thank you, as always for your continued support. We have done some good work together for the benefit of the American Heart Association.
