I Walk to Help Save Lives
I?m deeply passionate about educating as many people as possible on the life-saving skill of Hands-Only CPR. The truth is heartbreaking: far too many lives are lost to sudden cardiac arrest simply because bystanders didn?t know what to do.
Did you know that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital do not survive? In most cases, it?s because CPR wasn?t performed in time. But we can change that.
Cardiac arrests?and other medical emergencies?can happen anywhere: at work, at home, on athletic fields, and in our neighborhoods. The readiness of our community can mean the difference between life and death.
Before joining the American Heart Association, I didn?t fully understand how critical CPR can be. Six years ago, I lost a loved one to a medical emergency. He was in a remote area, far from EMTs or a hospital. When he collapsed, CPR wasn?t administered quickly enough?and tragically, he didn?t survive.
That experience changed me. It?s why I walk. It?s why I teach. And it?s why I?m asking for your support.
Now is the time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated helps train more people in CPR, fuels life-saving research, and creates more moments of survival. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
Please help me reach my goal?and help save lives.
