One year ago today, on March 29th, 2025 I woke up like any other day and I went to sleep that night in intensive care. I had been feeling great; no symptoms. I started having a strange feeling in my throat at around 8:15pm and I just had a feeling that something wasn't right. I went to the ER and within minutes they were calling a code Stemi which I later learned meant I had a 100% blockage in a major heart artery, aka I was having a heart attack. I was rushed to the cath lab where a stent was placed in my artery that was 100% blocked and they discovered a second artery that was 90% blocked. I would have that fixed two weeks later as the doctors felt that it was most important to fix the artery that was causing the heart attack. I later learned that if I had waited even 15 minutes to go to the hospital I might not have made it. When you have a near death experience you start to look at your life differently. I promised myself that I would dedicate my time and resource's helping others. Because of those who walked before me and raised money for AHA, I am here to tell my story. I don't tell this story for sympathy. I tell it for awareness. Never underestimate your symptoms. Please consider a donation to honor someone you know who has had heart disease/ stroke. And please consider joining my walking team. We'd love to have you \u2764\ufe0f
