It is the time of year where we can all join together, raise money for heart health, and remember Sean Donovan. Many will also remember others we lost to heart disease, including Kevin Robert from LifeNet, Steven Walsh from Copake Rescue, and my sister Carol and so many others... We all have a tragic story of someone we know and love who we lost to heart disease. 

Many of us also have stories of those who survived - the chain of survival worked! From rapid recognition of an emergency, early compressions, telecommunicator CPR, great prehospital care, and partners in the hospital, more and more people are surviving. Together we can make that happen for more people and for more families. Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.

Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
