9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this. ​

 

Justin suffered cardiac arrest in 1997 at age 9 without any prior health issues. First responders were at the home within minutes, but a young heart is difficult to re-start.

 

Much has been learned in the almost 30 years since Justin's passing about cardiac arrest, especially in the young. The American Heart Association has led the way in this research.
