I walk because a single moment can change everything. Nine out of ten people who suffer cardiac arrest outside a hospital don’t survive, often because no one nearby knew CPR. But that’s something we can change together.
Cardiac arrest can strike anywhere—at home, at work, in our neighborhoods, even in the quiet places we feel safest. My family learned that in the hardest way. In June 2024, my stepdad passed away from heart failure while out on his tractor, mowing the pastures in Wyoming. He was only 58. He had survived a triple bypass and carried his pain silently, always trying to shield us from worry. He fought with everything he had. I walk for him.
I walk to save lives. I walk so more families get more time.
