On May 14th, I’ll be participating in the American Heart Association 5K Heart Walk again. I know I’m not built for Olympic-level running (though pushing a 25-lb titanium wheelchair over 5K is its own kind of endurance sport).
But I am built for showing up when a cause matters.
Heart disease affects lots of families, including mine. My dad passed away from a heart attack in September 2005, and remembering him is one of the reasons this cause means so much to me.
If you’d like to support the mission, donations are always appreciated. And if donating isn’t in the cards right now, I also welcome good vibes, encouragement, spreading awareness, or cheering for me at the finish line if you happen to be around the city. Either way, dealer’s choice...I’ll gladly take the extra motivation.
