The most impactful moment of fundraising last year was rounding the first bend at Back Cove, looking back and seeing the mass of folks still crossing the starting line. Being a part of something like this is mutually beneficial in a way that must be experienced to understand, but I would attempt to describe it anyway...
Yes, we are supporting the American Heart Association (AHA).
Yes, we are fundraising to bring life-saving trainings to the community.
Yes, we want to give $$ to research that goes into keeping our loved ones alive.
But also, being a part of something so positive and meaningful brings warmth and pride in the people around you. Our differences hold a different kind of weight because we are united in one singular cause.
Participating in the Heart Walk means:
Showing up for our families, neighbors, community - ourselves
Supporting research & treatments helping to save the lives those people
Celebrating young and old survivors, here today because of the 100+ years of work that AHA has advocated for
Caring about humans
It's contagious and "cup-filling". I have learned that more important than the amount of resources you provide is the act of showing up as you can with that care in your heart. We are all at different stages in our lives with different amounts of money, time, physical energy, we can give out. It is just as fulfilling to show up as you can, knowing that this is the bandwidth you have right now.
Donations - Even $5 is a $5 towards a good cause.
$5 from everyone at Diodes would be over $1000 alone!
Walking - Come feel the momentum for yourself.
Walk as much or as little of the Cove as you like!
Sharing - Share our link, our team goals!
Small donations can quickly add up & showing you care means the world.
I Walk to Save Lives. Please help us reach our goal today.
