In 2023, I was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. I had lived my entire life with this condition even through pregnancy without knowing. Around my 32nd birthday, I began experiencing symptoms, and after testing, it was confirmed that I had an atrial septal defect (ASD). The only way to correct it was through open-heart surgery.
The journey was not easy, but I feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have been given a second chance at life. I will always be grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who cared for me every step of the way.
Anyone who has experienced congenital heart disease or any type of heart condition knows how scary and overwhelming it can be. Heart disease can affect people of all ages, and that is why supporting the American Heart Association means so much to me.
As a survivor, I am passionate about raising awareness and helping fund lifesaving research, education, and advocacy for healthier lives and stronger communities.
Your support whether by donating, joining the walk, or simply sharing this message truly makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting a cause that is deeply personal to my heart. \u2764\ufe0f
