As most of you know, I was the fortunate recipient of some of the greatest research from the American Heart Association.
Having a congenital heart defect...that is being born with a bicuspid aortic valve that finally needed replacement. This past year on July 17th I had a new mechanical aortic valve installed. Crazy right. Not an easy procedure as it required that all blood flow stop in my heart to remove the bad valve and put in the new one. This meant that my heart was off-line (stopped) for 90 minutes.
I will leave out all the other gory details, but everything went well and I was back at the gym and at work in just 6-weeks. This was all thanks to an incredible clinical team and great research over the past 10 years.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone like what happened to me. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to help save Lives. Please consider joining me and helping others survive heart disease. With appreciation, Bill
