I walk to honor my nephew, Charlie, our little angel. 

Charlie was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  HLHS is a critical congenital heart defect where the left side of a baby's heart is severely underdeveloped. It is frequently described as a baby being born with "half a heart," preventing the organ from effectively pumping oxygen-rich blood to the body.
