I Walk to Save Lives — Because I’m One of the Lucky Ones
At 39 years old, I had just become a new mom — soaking in the joy, the chaos, and the love of a new chapter. But life had a different plan.
Without warning, I suffered a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection)of my LAD, which led to two heart attacks. Two heart attacks. As a new mother. I survived...but not without scars. The physical healing was just one part. The emotional recovery? That’s been a much harder, quieter journey.
There were no sirens in the background when I needed help. No dramatic rescue. Just fear. Pain. And the fight to stay alive.
That’s why I’m walking in the Heart Walk. To raise awareness, to honor my second chance, and to fight for those who may not get one unless we act.
Did you know 9 out of 10 people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital won’t survive?
In most cases, bystander CPR isn’t performed, but we can change that.
Cardiac arrests happen at home, at work, on sports fields, in grocery stores — everywhere. Being prepared can mean the difference between life and death. The more people we train, the more lives we save.
This walk is more than just steps. It’s action. It’s awareness. It’s hope.
Join my team. Donate if you can. Spread the word.
Together, we can empower more people with lifesaving knowledge.
Together, we can turn bystanders into heroes.
Together, we can create more moments like mine, where life goes on.
Thank you for supporting me and the American Heart Association.
