2026 Rochester Heart Walk & Run
RGH Perioperative Services
We are the Rochester General Hospital Perioperative Team, and every day we come together for one purpose: to care for our community when it matters most.
At the heart of what we do is a shared commitment to uplift humanity through care for our community.
From life-saving procedures to moments of crisis, we care for thousands of patients each year. We see firsthand how quickly life can change—and how critical it is to be prepared.
For our team, this mission is also personal.
One of our own—a nurse, teammate, and new mom—survived two heart attacks caused by SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) at just 39 years old. Her story is a powerful reminder that heart disease doesn’t always look the way we expect, and it can impact anyone.
That’s why we’re walking.
To raise awareness about heart disease and cardiac arrest
To support lifesaving education like CPR and AED training
To make a difference not just inside the hospital—but out in our community
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital don’t survive. But together, we can change that.
Cardiac emergencies don’t just happen in hospitals—they happen everywhere. And when more people are prepared to act, more lives can be saved.
This walk is more than just steps. It’s action, teamwork, and hope.
As a team, we are proud to stand together—for our patients, our families, our friends, and each other.
