Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the United States. Personally, I have many family and friends who I have lost to heart disease. Each year, I add another person to walk in memory of. With the blessing of his family, this year I am also walking in memory of my friend Eric Swarts, whose life was cut short by heart disase. Eric was one of the kindest, most generous people I knew-always showing up for others with a genuine heart. This is my way of honoring his legacy and helping ensure more people have the chance to live longer, healthier lives.
These are some of my people who have lost their lives to heart disease who I continue to walk for.
My Grandfather, William T. Zimmerman, my Grammie, Elizabeth Richards, my Uncle Steve, one of my mentors, Carolyn Fitzpatrick, my longtime friend Jocelyn Meijias, and my high school friend, Josh Pierie.
As a mother of a teenage son, I want to make sure I am instilling heart healthy habits to him and I want to do everything I can to remain healthy myself to watch him grow up!
Your donation will help me, and others like me, do the same. Will you help please?
