The day after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, our whole family was still riding high. Then, out of nowhere, my dad had a heart attack.
He made it to the hospital in time and got a stent, but that was just the beginning. Doctors discovered he also had an asymptomatic arrhythmia, a silent problem no one knew was there. He spent a month and a half in the hospital before having surgery to implant a defibrillator.
My dad is a survivor. But he's also proof of something scary: you can feel completely fine and still be carrying a heart condition that could kill you without warning.
That's why I'm walking. I'm raising $5,000 for the Heart Walk to support heart disease research, education, and the kind of awareness that might help another family catch a warning sign before it becomes an emergency.
Here's how you can help:
Join my team. walk with us and be part of the reason someone else's dad gets a second chance too.
Donate. Every dollar goes toward research, prevention, and survivor support like the care that helped my dad come home.
Heart disease doesn't always look like what you expect. My dad looked healthy. He felt healthy. We almost lost him anyway. Help me turn our scare into something that protects someone else's family.
Thank you for supporting my dad, and everyone still fighting.
