2026 Lehigh Valley & Berks Heart Walk
Luke Heartwalkers
We have shared Luke's story every year since was born. This year, as we prepare to walk again, we're reminded just how far he's come and how grateful we are every single day.
Our son, Luke, was born with a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries. When he was just 3 days old, he underwent open-heart surgery. As new parents, placing our tiny baby in the hands of a surgical team was one of the hardest moments of our lives. The fear, uncertainty, and helplessness we felt are emotions we'll never forget.
Today, Luke is a happy, active 8-year-old who keeps us on our toes and fills our lives with laughter. Watching him run, play, and simply enjoy being a kid is a gift we never take for granted. We are forever thankful to the doctors, nurses, researchers, and medical teams whose expertise and dedication gave our son the chance to live the healthy life he enjoys today.
We walk because we know not every family receives the outcome we were blessed with. We walk to honor the children and families still facing difficult diagnoses, surgeries, and long hospital stays. We walk to support the research that makes lifesaving treatments possible and to help create a future where every child born with a heart defect has the opportunity to thrive.
Heart disease and stroke impact millions of families, and together we can make a difference.
Will you join us in supporting this important cause?
Every donation helps fund lifesaving research, advances treatment options, and provides hope for families facing heart disease and stroke.
From our family to yours, thank you for helping us make every heartbeat count. â¤ï¸
