In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope, funding research and cures.
Even more fascinating is the journey itself. It creates a community around a common cause. It connects people. People understand each other for who they are, what their talents, hopes, fears, and aspirations are. People step into each other's shoes, and relate to them on a personal level. They realize that they are in this together, different strands coming together to weave a beautiful tapestry.
As a team, we hope to raise money for the cause, and more importantly, to provide a platform for people to connect and enjoy the journey. Let's get to know each other. Please read some of the stories of our team members below.
Extraordinary starts with YOU!

I have worked with many members who have heart disease over the years and was a previous team leader for 2 heart walks. Heart disease is very near and dear to my heart as I have had a Boxer who was diagnosed with Boxer Cardiomyopathy. So many Americans are affected by heart disease and participating in the heart walk helps bring wider awareness to a lot of our members, friends and families.

Heart disease has deeply affected my family, including my father and paternal grandmother, making this cause profoundly personal. My father suffered from renal disease and congestive heart failure and was awaiting a heart and kidney transplant at the University of Maryland before his passing. I walk in remembrance of loved ones lost and to set a healthy example for my children, honoring the past while advocating for a healthier future.

I had a grandfather die from a massive heart attack when I was 6 years old. That was my first encounter with loosing someone close to me. Saving and improving lives can be as simple as taking a walk.
