With a family history of heart disease on both sides of my family, this is a cause that feels personal to me. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, and I really appreciate the work the American Heart Association does. AHA funds research, improves prevention and treatment, and expands access to CPR training.
One statistic that really stuck with me is that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital don’t survive, often because no one nearby performs CPR. There is still so much we can do to prevent heart disease, improve treatment, and make sure more people know what to do when someone needs help.
If you’d like to support my walk, I’d be so grateful for a donation of any amount.
