This year’s Buffalo Heart Walk feels especially personal. On Saturday, September 12th — my mom’s birthday — I’ll be walking in her honor.
Being able to honor her on her birthday, surrounded by people who love her, makes this year’s walk incredibly meaningful.
I’ll be walking alongside my husband, my children, my sisters and their families, in honor of my mom and the other members of our family we have lost to heart disease far too soon. But we’re also walking in honor of the strong and inspiring survivors who remind us why this work matters so much.
Through my journey with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly amazing survivors. Hearing their stories, witnessing their strength, and getting to know them personally has made this mission even more important to me.
So on my mom’s birthday, every step will be for her, for those we’ve lost, for those who are still fighting, and for a future where more families get more birthdays together. â¤ï¸
If you’re able, I would be incredibly grateful for your support of my Heart Walk fundraising efforts. Every donation helps the American Heart Association continue its lifesaving work, research, education and advocacy.
Thank you for helping me honor my mom and all those impacted by heart disease. â¤ï¸
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
