It's no secret that I started supporting the Heart Association after mom passed in 2018, to heart disease.
We have a long history of heart diesease and stroke in both sides of the family. Mom was the most impactful, along with dad who passed in 2024 from a combination of heart disease and kidney failure. The list is sadly long, with even a cousin suffering a cardiac arrest that lead ultimately to her passing. What is sad is that so many people are affected by heart disease and stroke, heart disease is responsible for more deaths in our country, for men and women, then all the cancers combined. Yet so many do not understand their own risk factors or think that they are not at risk.
We need to change the story and help keep all these beautiful hearts beating and prevent what we can.
Please join me in raising funds for the Heart Walk this year, in memory of so many who are fighting the good fight, and those we have lost.
I am a virtual walker this year, and that won't stop me from trying to exceed my personal goal, and make mom and dad proud that I am continuing to use their stories for the greater good. Please consider donating in memory or support to those near and dear to you.
