I walk for the American Heart Association because heart disease changed our lives forever. In 2025, my husband received a heart-lung en block transplant after 20+ years of battling hypertension and heart failure. We've lived through the fear, the waiting, the setbacks, and the hope that comes with every test result and every update from the transplant team.Â
Today, I walk to honor his strength to celebrate the gift of one more time, and to support the science and advocacy, and innovation that supports heart health and made his second chance possible. I walk for every family still dealing with heart disease, still waiting, still fighting, still praying for the miracle we received and I walk because heart health is not just a medical issue, it's a human one.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
