My heart Journey
I live with a rare disease called Takayasu's Arteritis, which causes inflammation of the large blood vessels.
My heart journey began in 2010 when I underwent open-heart surgery, which included a mitral valve repair, bypass, and aortic valve replacement. Despite everything I had been through, God blessed me with my beautiful baby boy in 2014.
In 2019, I experienced heart failure and needed a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). I was doing well for several years, until December 2025, when I developed heart failure again and needed another open-heart surgery. This time, I received a mechanical valve, along with a pacemaker and defibrillator.
Today, I am grateful to say that I am feeling well. Through every challenge, my faith in God has carried me. I am incredibly grateful for my husband, my family, and my friends who have stood by me through every step of this journey.
My story is a reminder to take care of your health and your heart, listen to your body, and never ignore the signs it gives you.
I am grateful for every day, every blessing, and every second chance God has given me.
This fundraiser will go towards cardiovascular and stroke research, community education and CPR training.
