2026 Erie Heart Walk
Team RBWiley
Kairo’s Story
Kairo was born with WPW (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome). For his first three weeks, everything seemed fine. Then, at just three weeks old, while at home, Kairo suddenly began screaming, crying, and turning purple. I held him in my arms, frozen with fear, while a family member began CPR. Kairo vomited, and everything happened so quickly.
Seven days later, it happened again. This time, I called 911 while a family member performed CPR. At the hospital, we learned that Kairo’s heart rate was 224. The medical team worked urgently to bring it down.
We were eventually transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where we spent a month. Kairo was placed on medication and continued to be monitored.
On June 29, 2026, Kairo underwent a cardiac ablation. By God’s grace, he was cleared of WPW and has not needed medication since.
Today, we continue to trust God and give Him all the glory.
God is good—all the time, and all the time, God is good!
