My "why" is my dad, William "Bo" Butler.

On September 12, 2025, my family lost my dad unexpectedly to a sudden heart attack. He was only 61 years old, and in that moment, our lives changed forever.

My dad was the kind of person who would do anything for anybody. If you needed help with something, you could call him. If he didn't know the answer right then, he was going to figure it out. That was just him.

He was kind, dependable, and always there when you needed him. He loved his family, and we always knew we could count on him.

Losing him has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. I think about him every day. I miss his voice, I miss calling him, and I miss knowing that if I needed something, my dad was just a phone call away.

That's where the name Bo's Hat Trick comes from.

My dad used to say, "Let me pull a hat trick," all the time. If I called him needing something, or somebody needed him to figure something out, that was his saying.

Basically, it meant, "I got it. I'll figure it out."

And he did.

Somehow, he always found a way.

So when it came time to name the team, Bo's Hat Trick made sense. It reminds me of him. It reminds me of how he was always the one people called when they needed something done, and how he would keep working at it until he figured it out.

This walk is really just another way for me to keep his name going.

I'm walking because I miss my dad. I'm walking because I wish we had more time. More regular days. More phone calls. More laughs. More chances for me to say, "Dad, can you help me with something?" and hear him say he was going to pull a hat trick.

I'm supporting the American Heart Association and raising funds in his memory in hopes that it can help another family have more time with someone they love.

For me, Bo's Hat Trick is bigger than just the name of the team. It's him. It's something he said, something he lived by, and something that will always make me think of my dad.

So this one is for my dad, Bo.
