In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
I choose to do this heart walk in honor of my mom and my dad. My mom has had challenges with heart disease for the past 30 years. She is a strong survivor of multiple balloons, stints, and triple bypass surgery. She fights the good fight every day! My dad had his first stroke at the age of 57. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years later due to complications directly related to his stroke. Both parents inspire me to take cardiovascular health very seriously, and I believe the efforts of the American Heart Association contribute to the overall awareness and hopefully prevention of heart related health issues.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
