When I was five months pregnant with my son Jaxson, doctors diagnosed him with Transposition of the Great Arteries. What this means is that in utero Jaxson's heart developed in reverse, two major arteries are placed on the opposite sides of his heart. For the past 2 and a half years his father and I have watched him grow into an amazing little boy. He is smart, funny, strong and above all healthy. He brings us so much joy. After finding out the news of my sons diagnosis I felt helpless and scared and wanted to do anything possible to help him and others like him. I turned to the American Heart Association where I became team leader of the Jax of Hearts. In total over the past two years, family, friends and I were able to raise over 12,000 dollars to contribute to this amazing cause. This year I hope to do even better.
