As many of you know, my good friend Jocelyn Mejias passed away a few weeks ago. She was one of the kindest and most giving souls, and a friend to many. They say only the good die young and she is one of them....too young in my eyes to die from a heart attack.
I'm honored to walk in the North Country Heart Walk once again this year and do it in honor of my friend Jocelyn, adding her to the list of others close to me who have lost their battle with heart disease, my grandfather William Zimmerman, my grandmother, Elizabeth Richards, my uncle-Steve Zimmerman, Carolyn Fitzpatrick, and many more. Heart disease runs in my family.
An estimated 90% of cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, are preventable. However, cardiovascular disease remains the #1 killer and the most expensive disease, costing nearly $1 billion a day. Now is the time to take ownership of your health!
As a mother of a teenage son, I want to make sure I am instilling heart healthy habits to him and I want to do everything I can to remain healthy myself to watch him grow up!
Your donation will help me, and others like me, do the same. Will you help please?
