Life works in mysterious ways - Chapter 2
Rewind about 1 year, to April 2023. I was awoken in the middle of the night by my cellphone ringing. On the other end of the phone was my husband's friend calling me. It seems he needed information regarding my husband's medication regime to provide to the EMS workers who were at his house to take my husband, who was having stroke symptoms, to the hospital. Thankfully due to the quick actions of his friends, the ambulance crew, and ED doctors, my husband was treated urgently and received TPA to reverse his stroke symptoms. He spent three nights in the ICU trying to get his severe hypertension under control. With the help of advances in medications, one year later, his blood pressure is well controlled and he has no further residual effects from the transient ischemic attack (aka mini stroke).
