Hi everyone! My name is Brian Berger. My family and I have been working with the American Heart Association since 2018 and it’s been nothing but great! On April 8, 2018 my father had a heart attack while at the gym. He had great health habits but we soon learned that this could happen to anyone. A few days and 5 stents later he returned home. Being 11 years old at the time I didn’t fully understand what was happening. As time went by I started to research and ask more questions. In September of 2018 I decided to start a team in honor of him at the Long Island walk. I loved seeing a community filled with families and friends of those who had heart attacks. Since then, with many others the “Dad’s Heart” team has raised over $150,000 for the AHA.
