7 years ago - my life changed. At a young age, new mom, I out of nowhere had a stroke. I was lucky very lucky and I thought about those that weren't. What could I do to help them? To fight for those lost or still here and their lives changed dramatically. Advocate for them, advocate for us, for myself.
I have met some incredible people over the last few years and one of those people I bike with him. We were meant to meet.. He is a stroke survivor and is an incredible person and where he is in his journey is remarkable. This person has been a friend and mentor to me in life and on the bike trails I'm so greatful to know them.
What I got this year...a reason, I know now what I didn't all of these years...why. Most likely my stroke was caused due to autoimmune disease, Lupus. It is not faceless, there is no more faceless reason. I got peace of mind and can take the measures to stay as healthy as I can and reduce inflammation. And I'm stronger than ever⤠Listen to your bodies, spend time with those you love and care about, and do the things you love!
