That red maple is one of my Dad's favorites, along with his orange azalea.
Dad passed in 2007, after living with heart disease for many years. He had surgery twice on his mitral valve, and also was on medication for a very long time. And now, my Mom, a stroke survivor, has recently been diagnosed with a heart condition.
The maple and the azalea, with their colorful blooms at different times of the year, are representative of my parents - vibrant, reliable, and resilient in the face of whatever is thrown in their way.
I walk for Dad, and Mom, and other family members with heart conditions. I know that the money we raise at the Syracuse Heartwalk goes a long way towards my family and friends, and yours, too.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
