I am slowly running (some would call it walking) because unbelievably I am able to. I've experienced heart disease at every level of life. Infant, young child, teenager, young adult and finally middle aged adult. 10 heart surgeries in my 55 years...yikes. But the AHA has made sure I'm still here. The advances made by the AHA spearheaded by people's donations, hard work and caring, have given me the opportunity to run (walk) this race. Time for me to both pay it back and pay it forward.
